Bodies in Dialogue: Towards the Next Artistic Residencies of the European Project Biokinetics

Milan: 20–24 October 2025 | Lisbon: 27–31 October 2025

After the artistic residency in Athens — held from 14 to 24 July 2025 under the artistic direction of Jiorgos Christakis and the Dagipoli Dance Company — the Biokinetics project continues its creative journey with two upcoming international residencies in Milan and Lisbon.

Biokinetics is a European integrated dance project that brings together performers with and without disabilities in a shared process of artistic research, intercultural exchange, and collective experimentation. The initiative is co-funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe Programme – Culture and Creativity, which supports cross-border cultural cooperation and promotes artistic diversity throughout Europe.

The next residency will take place at DanceHaus Susanna Beltrami in Milan (20–24 October 2025), where the company will begin preparations for the production of the final performance. The journey will then continue in Lisbon (27–31 October 2025) for a new stage of artistic development and collaborative exploration.

Throughout these residencies, participants will engage in an immersive experience exploring dance, movement, stage presence, choreography, and expressive arts — celebrating the richness and diversity of the body as a powerful vehicle for creativity and human connection.

Core themes include motoriography, physical skills, self-acceptance, and self-awareness. Facilitators from the partner countries will bring a variety of perspectives and artistic approaches, fostering a vibrant intercultural dialogue grounded in the universal language of the body and movement.

The residencies in Milan and Lisbon mark an essential step toward the creation of the final performance — the culmination of a collaborative process that embodies inclusion, creativity, and the spirit of European cooperation.
